Really? Even though I'm a mess? [She offers him a little smile at that, nudging her nose against his before opening her eyes again and peering up at him.]

Please do. I kind of hate it. [She glances down at her get up.] I don't even know where to start.

Well that explains things. [She teases softly, leaning into him more than she probably should. One of her hand moves to find his on her shoulder, the other reaching out to trail over the scruff of his jaw as he talks, her expression turning serious.

Her brow furrows, and she shakes her head.
] If you had told me before... This place? Then no, I wouldn't have believed you. Now? [She squeezes his hand.] Tell me about her, and how you met when you were so old.

[It's still strange to have this sort of effect on anyone, much less someone who looks like Sam, but she's acquired enough experience at this point to doubt it less and less, the authenticity of the reciprocation. She can't help but smile when he does, releasing his hand so he can more easily fuss with her formidable dress.

She's quiet a moment, but nods in agreement, her expression growing more serious again.
] I agree. Obi-Wan and I had similar logic, and that worked as well as it could... Until it didn't. [There's still a heavy, conflicted sadness when it comes to Obi-Wan, and she doesn't think that's much fair to either Sam or the Jedi. Or her, honestly.

As he answers, she works on stepping out of the dress with as much grace as she can manage, left in the undergarments befitting the time period, which at least allowed her to breathe better.
]

It's nice that you had that chance, brief as it was. It seems like it gave you something good and worthwhile. [And at his question.] My world? Earth 2004. My friends and I solved mysteries in our hometown as teenagers, then again later after a break... [Velma can't help the pride that creeps into her expression.] When I worked at NASA.
